This is a great comeback for all of that “I don’t see race.” BS
AND YOU BENEFIT FROM IT EVERY DAY
literally one of my BIGGEST pet peeves is people who assume “all conversation about race or color is racist” like hey don’t be afraid to talk about race you uncultured swine
… but white people invented races? the fuck?
i am fairly certain the concept of race existed before white people even came into existence i’m jussayin
wait why can’t i not care about what race someone is? People are people. Like i don’t care what sexuality you are, but with this i can’t say that because im straight and straight people are the ones who hate homosexuals/asexuals/bisexuals/etc. It’s stupid sometimes i think it’s not just white people who can be racist but apparently im wrong for thinking that because only white people can be racist apparently.
you’re missing the point. there’s not a problem with not caring what race someone is. there’s a problem with using being “colorblind” to ignore race as an issue. because fact of the matter is race exists and it’s a huge societal issue whether you think it is or not, and choosing to ignore it means you’re ignoring the experiences of those who DO suffer problems due to their race. people always think it’s racist to talk about these issues but they’re never going to be solved if we keep trying to just cover them up and ignore them
